BDS course structure, percentage evaluation, & health assessment

Dentistry practice is not all about completing the required courses only; it needs you to make sure that you are a person of high-level conduct and standard. It is mandatory for all the dentistry students that they are registered with ISA (Independent Safeguarding Authority) & they have been checked by BDS (Disclosure and Barring Service).

DBS Course Structure

BDS dentistry course comprises a five-year dental degree program. In the first year, you will be busy in studying the content independently in the light of lectures and seminars that you will have to attend on a regular basis.

In the 2nd year of your study, self-study will be reduced compared to lectures and seminars. What does that mean? That means that in the first year, the percentage of self-studies will be above 60% but in the 2nd year, the self-study will decrease to below 50%. In the 2nd year, relevant placement will also be higher by 8% compared to the first-year’s 1% percent. Let’s take a look at the percentage of activities:

Works assessment mostly depends on what a dentistry student’s choice is.
